Hi everyone, did you see the freefall of Felix Blaungartner? Wow!, it was breathtaking. In fact,  I think it was the most amasing event I have never seen. He has been the first person to break the sound barrier in freefall. What a challenge!

What amazed me most was the very moment in which felix left the capsula and took the right position to do the freefall. It was impressive. he was standing up at the edge of the space capsule looking at the Earth, which was  about 39 kilometres from him, knowing the dangerous that this fall could be if the smallest mistake happenned. Fortunatelly, everything was right and the freefall was a success in spite of the fact that there was a few seconds, in the middle of the fall ,where Felix lost the fall´s control and started to revolve around himself. Strangely enough, in five minutes he landed as if nothing would have happened and he would have gone for walk quietly.

While I was seeing it I was wondering what would be crossing  felix´s mind in that moment. I cannot imagine the thoughts of these intrepit men. They should be a bit crazy, but thanks to people like these, science and technology are improving everyday .

Paseo a la orilla del mar

Describing a picture

Walk by the sea was painted by Juaquin Sorolla Bastida a Spanish impressionist painter (1863-1923).

This beautiful painting is one of  his most known. In it the author presents us his wife and daughter walking by the sea in a summer day. Here we can appreciate some of the characteristics feature of his work: the long brushstrokes and the bright and importance of the colours.

The bright white of the elegant old fashioned outfits, which contrasts with the others colours, focuses our attention on the two women wearing them. The painting is full of light and colour. The brushstrokes are long and the colours are bright to give realism to a summer day. It is amazing how through the movement of their clothes and  the ripples of the sea, the painter expresses the ocean breeze. It is so real that when we look at this picture we can almost feel the breeze and the smell of the sea and what is more,it makes us feel happiness and optimism.

It looks like a photo because the author achieves to capture this lovely instant with the precision of a photographer.
I have chosen this painting because I like it and I hope you like it too.
